5 of my Summer Faves. Wear, Love, Repeat.

KYMA in Greece

I’m a huge believer in fewer, better things. It definitely took me some time to get here.

While I still know it when I see something special, and live for treasure hunting while on the road – I much prefer a life where less energy is spent paying down credit cards, and more time is spent really loving the items in my house and on my body.

I’ve been on the road most of the summer, and now that I’ve settled back in my NYC life, I can enjoy the weather and my summer faves.

Here’s the roundup, from head to toe.

1. SUMMER GLOW

My good friend recently asked me why I was glowing. I couldn't figure out what she meant - until I went home that night to apply Skin Essence's Neroli Moisturzier, and I thought - of course - this is what's giving me the glow! I'm obsessed with this organic, Canadian made oil.

2. PROTECT YOURSELF

Summer babes - don't forget to cover up against the burning rays. I love this wide brimmed hat by J Crew, especially with the leather strap! PS - it's on sale!

3. BEACH TOWEL FOR EVERY DAY

I just about died when I stumbled across Plaj Towel Co. in June.

I had been carrying around my hand tie-dyed sarong found in Barcelona, since 2009 - searching for a replacement, as the fibers are literally breaking down.

Plaj towels are the perfect replacement - they can be taken to the beach (sand won't stick to them), they can be worn as a sarong, or they can be used as a blanket, scarf, or to dry off after a dip in the pool.

Plaj means beach in Turkish. Each towel is hand-loomed in Turkey using traditional methods by local village artisans, made with natural fibers and premium Turkish cotton.

4. A REAL PAGE-TURNER

Trips to the beach, hours by the pool, days at the park - all wouldn't be the same without a juicy summer novel that leaves you wanting more with every page.

Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale is a compelling story of two sisters, their similarities and differences in war torn France.

In love we find our who we want to be. In war we find out who we are.

5. GREECE ON YOUR FEET

My love affair with KYMA was love at first sight. The soft, supple leather upper, combined with the bright blue that reminded me of Greece immediately was a thing of beauty. I've been wearing my KYMA's for the past month, non-stop and they're slowly forming to the shape of my feet. I know they're going to age with grace.

Each style of KYMA is named after a Greek island reflecting the aesthetic and feel you get from each one. Just like the islands, each one has its own idiosyncrasy, but they all share the blue sole.

All sandals are handmade in Greece by expert craftsmen using a range of fine genuine leather.
